The ptsNotes Windows version is a program used with the ptsNotes S60.
The ptsNotes Windows uses same database specification of the ptsNotes S60. It is running under Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 or later. If you are a user of the ptsNotes S60, you can use Windows version without any practice because basic operation of the ptsNotes Windows is same to the ptsNotes S60.
The ptsNotes Windows has the interface with Nokia PC Suite and performs complete database synchronization with the ptsNotes on a mobile phone which is connected to a Windows PC via USB cable or Bluetooth. Therefore, flexible operations can be done. For example, you enter notes data on a Windows PC then you also can refer same notes data using a mobile phone.
On ptsNotes Windows v1.0, the ptsNotes Windows records a event log entry of the Windows when an error message is displayed or an error processed internally.
Application event log entry which indicates 'ptsNotes' in source field is the event log from the ptsNotes Windows. Event ID = 0 means a error processed internally and Eevent ID = 1 means a displayed error.
From ptsNotes Windows v1.1, the ptsNotes Windows writes a log file, ptsNotes.log, on the DB folder. The ptsNotes Windows erases ptsNotes.Log just after start-up, then starts to record log entries. So, if you need to keep log records, please copy ptsNotes.log to somewhere before start ptsNotes Windows again.
