How many characters can be stored in a note?

About 32,000 characters can be logically stored in a note entry of the database file. However, it actually seems that the limit on the performance of the device is lower than the logical limitation.

How many notes (document) can be stored in the database?

65,535 notes can be stored in a logical design. It seems that the limit by the performance of the device is lower than it.

There are missing file numbers

The deleted note is not shown in the list but it still remains in the database. Therefore, the file number for the deleted note becomes missing file number. Trash box function will be implemented in the future. The file number rearrangement function may also be implemented.

Backup file compatibility

Formats of the database files and the backup files of the ptsNotes S60 and the ptsNotes Windows are considering interchangeability. Therefore, it is possible to use them by simply copying the database or the backup between ptsNotes S60 and ptsNotes Windows.

However, it is not possible to synchronize in this case. We recommend the database to be copied by the synchronous function between the pstNotes S60 and the ptsNotes Windows usually.

The ptsNotes installation failure with certification error

The ptsNotes S60 is not a signed application. Please change the Software Installation setting item under the Application Manager to 'All'. If the device does not allow to alter this setting item, the ptsNotes S60 can not be installed.

The ptsNotes installation failure with certificate expired

Please check date and time setting of your device. If date setting is wrong, this error maybe shown.

If you use Nokia 5800XM, this error could be caused by 5800XM firmware problem. You may need to perform software reset of your 5800XM. Please refer Forum Nokia discussion.

Disarray of the tag field of the filter screen

When a character string that is longer than the width of the screen is displayed in the tag field of the filter screen, it is supposed to be happened. At present, there is no solution. There is no problem in operation.

The ptsNotes is terminated if the characters are pasting to the editor screen of the ptsNotes running on the E61 with initial firmware (0610.04.04)

This problem is exactly same to problem number KIS000354. Please update E61 firmware to latest level to fix this.

It takes time to display the notes list when too many notes to be displayed

It takes time to display large notes list because display list items limit is large number. A suitable limitation number and procedure for overflow items are being studied.

License information is not saved

When character lebgth of e-mail address is greater than 32, the license information can not be set correctly at ptsNotes start-ups. Future release of ptsNotes will handle e-mail address length up to 255 characters. Meanwhile, please use less than or equal to 32 characters e-mail address.

ptsNotes Windows

Synchronization with the device cannot be taken under a specific condition

Data is not displayed with ptsNotes S60 when copying it to the device from ptsNotes Windows when the item has never been selected on the ptsNotes Windows list.

The situation happens just after the start of ptsNotes Windows or just after the DB copy from the device. The workaround is selecting an item on the list before copying the DB to the device.

We recommend you to install ptsNotes Windows v1.1 including the fix.

The font of the text pasted on the editor is not saved

When the text is pasted on the editor, font information on the clipboard is reflected on the editor. However, when saving it, information of the font is lost because it saves it in the database in a plain text format.

I want to erase the setting of ptsNotes Windows

The setting items are kept by the .NET recommended method. The setting items are not erased even if the ptsNotes Windows is uninstalled. This is convenient because the setting items remain when installing the ptsNotes Windows again. But if you want to erase the setting items, you need to do it manually.
